I was one of the first to download the new update for my iPod Touch. Well, not technically, but I was one of the first eight million.

I really like some of the apps that are available. Some are very useful such as:

  • Texas Holdem
  • Dizzy Bee (kids love it)
  • iNetwork Test
  • AP News app….fantastic
  • Break
  • Baseball…oh my god are you kidding me? Off the charts
  • BoxOffice
  • Tap Tap Revenge

Others are either useless or quickly annoying:

  • Phone saber
  • zintin
  • Diggerific…useless
  • yelp
  • Cuberunner

Aside from these key additions, I have noticed my Touch is SERIOUSLY less stable. It blacks out and reboots possibly once a day now. This is not a huge issue for me as it is an entertainment and organizational tool. What if this was my phone though? I can see serious drawbacks to my phone rebooting repeatedly and interrupting important things like “phone calls.”

Oh wait, I have had three different Palm Treos…never mind.

Football…Where Art Thou?

Well we are coming up on draft day for football. Yes, I did say football. Our league has been active since late May, and I have been working on it for months longer than that. My keepers are set now after a couple of trades that shipped off Chad Johnson and my third round pick. Here is the crew I am heading into draft day with. That said, I ended up in slot six thanks to my risky keepers in Turner and Brown. I am really questioning my logic on Urlacher though. I never promote keeping a DE, but Jared Allen possibly should have been an exception for me this year. Still, we are psyched to get started and I like my start:

  • Ronnie Brown - A risk healthwise, but IF he is full strength, could make my starting RBs a diamond
  • Michael Turner - A VERY low cost risk. If he pans out, this could be amazing. That said, I still wish he had signed with Houston
  • Santonio Holmes - Part of the CJ trade, I am looking for a breakout year.
  • Brian Urlacher - He is no longer hype. He is pure production
  • Sean Jones - A top LB and a top DB is like money in the bank

The Consistency of a Goat

After a nice sweep of the Brewers, who are officially the scariest team in the NL at the moment, the Cubs tank in their first game against the Pirates on Friday? Mind you these are the Bay-less, Nady-less Pirates. Ugly.

I thought it was pretty bad until I realized that dumass Marquis was pitching. Now it all makes sense.
